I Love Seeing This History of My Black Heroe and His Family

Muslims also enslaved Europeans. According to Robert Davis, between 1 million and 1.25 million Europeans were captured between the 16th and 19th centuries by Barbary corsairs, who were vassals of the Ottoman Empire, and sold as slaves.[22][23][24] These slav es were captured mainly from seaside villges from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, and also from more distant places like France or England, the Netherlands, and even Iceland. They were also taken from ships stopped by the pirates.[25] The effects of these attacks were devastating: France, England, and Spain each lost thousands of ships. Long stretches of the Spanish and Italian coasts were almost completely abandoned by their inhabitants, because of frequent pirate attacks. Pirate raids discouraged settlement along the coast until the 19th century.[26][27] Periodic Muslim raiding expeditions were sent from Islamic Iberia to ravage the Christian Iberian kingdoms, bringing back slaves. In a raid against Lisbon in 1189, for example, the Almohad Berber Muslim caliph, Abu Yusuf Yaqub al-Mansur, took 3,000 female and child captives, while his governor of Córdoba, in a subsequent attack upon Silves in 1191, took 3,000 Christian slaves.[28] It wasn't a white man that chopped off the heads of two white women. It wasn't a white man that repeatedly raped two 16 year old white girls. It wasn't a white man that beat a 95 year old white man in his house. It wasn't a white man that punched a white bus driver. It wasn't a white man that shot a white Australian women. The white phenom believes all criminals are whites. All slaves were owned by whites. All blacks were slaves. Indians invented food. Muslims invented math. Whites invented slavery. When the white man shot the Jews suddenly the white phenom, ACLU, NAACP, Southern Poverty Law center became champions of the death penalty. I guess a white mans life has less value than a Jew.

In the documentary film Kevin Roche: The Quiet Architect (2017), architect Robert A.M. Stern describes Kevin Roche as “irresistibly nice.” But nice as he may have been, this modest Irish-born American was also a force to be reckoned with in the world of architecture. He designed more than 200 innovative buildings on three continents. His architectural vision mixed pragmatic necessities with humanistic concerns for community and individual productivity.
