Winter 2024-25: Eat Up!
I am looking for contributors to the Winter 24-25 issue of Connecticut Explored. We need two feature articles (6 pages) and one 4-page article, and a Sitelines (2 pages).

Abstracts due by May 25. Articles due Aug. 1, 2024.
Food is the main focus of this issue. What can we learn about the history of our state by looking at the food its people ate? Stories might include:

Historic restaurants, mall food-courts, food trucks, you name it! The buildings, the owners, the workers, the community that kept them operating.
Food-based traditions from indigenous and immigrant communities
Meals that went down in history
Farms and food systems
Food sovereignty
Food insecurity
Possible web-based content includes stories reflecting recipes, menus, flyers that have been preserved.

1 page, 450-500 words = $100
2 pages, 750-800 words = $150
4 pages, 1,500 words = $200

CT Explored loves a bookstore!📚📕📘Check these independent bookstores!On April 27th, independent bookstores across the country – including all 21 stores on the CT Book Trail – will be celebrating the 11th anniversary of Independent Bookstores Day!

The Connecticut Book Trail is a group of 21 independently owned bookstores in Connecticut working together to bring more book lovers – both locals and tourists – into all of their shops. The Trail showcases the unique character and charm of each bookstore, while also highlighting the diverse literary community in Connecticut.
